App description

Play and Sing Piano for Kids and Babies is an educational app to teach children to play a tune on the keyboard by colour coding the keys with the notes. The notes on the score are shaped for timed intervals and the bar moves across the score as you play. This is a very simple way to teach young children to play some tunes they might be familiar with and sing along to at the same time. Very young children should easily be able to tap the notes on the screen. The free version comes with four tunes in English and two tunes in 11 other languages. However more tunes are available to purchase.

Reviewers comments

This app is very simple for children to use and learn to play some tunes. The English section has two levels, an easier and a more difficult level. This could be a good way to introduce children to music and teach co-ordination between hand and ear.

The settings on the home screen will take you to connections to Facebook, the App Store, email and other apps from the developer by answering a simple sum. The additional songs have a lock on them but can be purchased by also answering a simple sum. This won’t be a problem for children who’ve learnt some simple arithmetic and therefore parental guidance and/or co-playing is recommended for 4-8 year olds.

In App purchasing

  • One song costs $1.49
  • 10 songs cost $4.49
  • All songs cost $9.99

About games and gambling

Most games contain elements of risk, chance and knowledge, that is why they are fun to play. There is growing concern about the impacts of simulated gambling games on the health and wellbeing of children. That's why we are identifying games that contain gambling elements on our site.

The State Government of South Australia's web site http://nogame.com.au/ contains information about these concerns.
