What’s it about?

Scrat is chasing after an acorn when he suddenly gets catapulted right up into the sky. Somehow Scrat manages to set off a series of events that threaten to destroy the whole planet. There is an asteroid crashing down to Earth and Manny, Ellie, Sid, Diego and Buck must find a way to stop it.

Buck says they should travel to the valley where meteors have been landing and create a magnetic space to divert the asteroid. The friends have to work together as a team in order to save the world.

What to look out for

There are some scary scenes in this movie that could frighten younger kids such as:

  • Some of the characters are injured when meteorites land near them, which seem to zap them with electricity and their fur stands on end.
  • One of the characters is exposed to radiation, which makes his skin peel back and shows his skeleton.
  • Several of the characters have to escape from a very hot, lava-covered boulder, which is rolling towards them.

Moral of the Story

The message of the story is the importance of being able to work together as a team to get things done.
