What’s it about?

The Police Commissioner of Gotham City needs Batman and Robin’s help to protect Gotham from a group of evil villains. The Joker, Penguin, Riddler and Catwoman are out to cause trouble and Batman and Robin have to try and stop them.

Catwoman manages to poison Batman with a potion that makes him turn evil too. Batman starts to take control over Gotham City and things are looking bad. Robin manages to get Catwoman to help him return Batman from the dark side.

What to look out for

There is a lot of cartoon style fighting in this movie with characters punching, kicking and trying to strangle each other. There are several scenes that would scare younger children such as:

  • The four villains turn up on a TV show and take everyone hostage. They tie them to their chairs and then it seems as if they are going to throw a bomb at them.
  • The villains throw small bombs and lasers at Batman’s car.
  • While Batman has been poisoned, he ties up Catwoman and Robin and hangs them over a pit. He slowly lowers them into it.

Moral of the Story

The messages of the movie are that good wins over evil and that society needs laws to keep people safe.
