The Sound of Music is set in Austria during World War Two. Maria is a nun but she does not like it very much, so she is sent to take care of the seven Von Trapp children. The children have no mother and their father is very strict. Maria tries to make life more fun for the children by teaching them to sing and dance. At first their father is angry at Maria for not following his orders but then he begins to fall in love with her and they get married. But one day, after they are married, the Nazis begin marching to their town. The Nazis want the father to join them but he does not want to, so the family must try to escape.
