New US research has indicated that modifying the type of television programs that preschoolers watch can change their behaviour. Research by Dr Dimitri Christakis and colleagues demonstrated that an intervention to reduce exposure to screen violence and increase exposure to prosocial programming can positively impact child behavior, particularly in boys. The research was published online in the journal Pediatrics
