Safer Advertising to Children: Protecting Future Health August 26, 2013
The Greens have announced their policy for banning targeted advertising of harmful products to children:
Set enforceable, national standard times for child-friendly TV ads that would ban junk food, gambling and alcohol ads on commercial TV between 6am and 9am, and 4pm and 9pm on weekdays; and between 6am and 9pm on weekends and during school holidays.
Subscription television channels dedicated to children's programming would be banned from showing junk food, gambling and alcohol advertisements.
