On 25 June 2015, the Senate referred an Inquiry into Personal Choice and Community Impacts to the Senate Economics References Committee for inquiry and report by 13 June 2016. The inquiry is looking into the economic and social impact of legislation, policies or Commonwealth guidelines introduced to restrict personal choice 'for the individual's own good'.
The 'classification of publications, films and computer games' is one of the measures listed in the Terms of Reference
