AMA call for ban on advertising junk food to children January 8, 2018

In a position statement released on 7 January, the Australian Medical Association has called for a number of measures to combat the growing obesity problem in Australia. These include a tax on sugary drinks and a ban on the advertising of junk foods to children. The paper states that, 'Advertising and marketing of unhealthy foods and beverages to children influences their preferences and should be prohibited'.
