This review of Mathstorm contains the following information:
All games played
The app contains 5 different games that have different approaches to practicing the same problem-solving skills.
Monsoon is a "answer as many questions as you can" game with a customisable timer (30-120 seconds)
Avalanche is an endurance game, being too slow to answer or answering incorrectly will make the snowball catch up to the player. When it reaches the player the game ends.
Meteor Shower offers a reverse problem solving game, where the player is given the answer and must tap the matching question.
Sandstorm is closer to a free-answer game where the player does not have to be fast unless they're aiming for the high score.
Blizzard is a unique game where the player must select from a large amount of numbers to reach the given target. It can be played with a timer or in free-play mode.
The customisable nature of the app makes it a great choice for parents and teachers who are willing to use those features. The game ships with 7 pre-made difficulties but I'd recommend trying the options given for the best experience.
Each difficulty also tracks its own high scores which is great for giving goals each player can achieve (Kids playing on harder difficulties aren't trying to beat scores made on an easier difficulty, for example).
There are no in-app purchases.
No profiles are needed, high scores are recorded anonymously (players don't enter a name) and are stored on the device.

Most games contain elements of risk, chance and knowledge, that is why they are fun to play. There is growing concern about the impacts of simulated gambling games on the health and wellbeing of children. That's why we are identifying games that contain gambling elements on our site.
