This App gives children the opportunity to explore routines and daily activities such as getting up, eating meals and playing. It draws on the idea of “Humpty’s day” using the Playschool characters from ABC television.
This App, designed for young children, draws on characters from the ABC television series Playschool. Within the App, children explore the ideas of “Humpty’s day”, from waking to going to bed. A collection of mini-games and activities are included with children prepartng for a birthday party for the character Humpty. Activities include eating (healthy food options available), jumping on a trampoline, blowing up balloons, building with blocks, having a bath, reading a story and going to bed. This App is highly engaging with simple rewards (such as piano sounds) with instructions and praise recorded by the Playschool actors. In user testing, parents and children were particularly impressed with the Australian accents and the ability to have open-ended play and choice of activities.
Note there is also the option to view ABC playschool videos (although in user testing most children moved straight to playing the game).
