ABC Song - Rhymes Videos, Games, Phonics Learning is a multi-tasking educational app designed to teach pre-schoolers about letters, numbers, etc. There are over 100 activities to choose from including: nursery rhymes, songs, alphabet- both lower and upper case, numbers, memory games, jigsaw puzzles and simple trivia questions. Children can choose from any of these tasks from the home screen and play by simply tapping on the screen. The songs and nursery rhymes are short videos which are downloaded when tapped on. Points are collected and combined from all games which can be used to ‘buy’ objects. There are more games which are locked and can be purchased from the store. The home screen also has access to the app store and to parental settings which are locked by a written instruction for parents. Some level of fine motor skills would be required for this app.

ABC Song - Rhymes Videos, Games, Phonics Learning is a colourful and fun app for teaching young children basic skills of numbers, letters, shapes, sorting, colours, etc. It is an American app and therefore the speech is such which might teach children American rather than Australian dialect. The games are simple to use as they are designed for pre-schoolers, however, ads can be clicked on which takes the player online. It is therefore strongly recommended that play for under 9’s is offline, once the videos have been downloaded. Parents may also consider paying the $1.99 to remove the ads which are quite inappropriate for children (real estate ads for example). In the parents’ section a record is kept showing the time and score for each game played. Access to the developer’s website and Facebook is available through this section also.
