This review of Assassin's Creed Rebellion contains the following information:
Our Reviewer played the game up to level 6.
This game follows the Assassin’s Creed franchise that has been running since 2007 – mainly via console gaming. Players must build headquarters (HQ) and train a group of assassins to infiltrate and defeat the Templars, who are trying to take over Spain. This is achieved through on-going missions, mainly consisting of entering enemy compounds, killing the enemy, and retrieving valuable items and Intel. Players must choose a group of three assassins before entering a mission. From there, game play consists of choosing which assassin to navigate the next area or room within the enemy compound. Fighting is achieved by on screen buttons, which provide different strike or attack options (with a “percentage of success” indicator). Successful missions are rewarded with coins, Intel, and DNA fragments; which can be used to upgrade an assassin’s skills, weapons and HQ rooms.
Considering it is a free app, Assassin's Creed Rebellion doesn’t have of many features that parents usually need to be vigilant about (pop-up ads, gambling themes, social media connectivity). However, the in-app purchasing feature and semi-graphic violence may require parental guidance for ages 9 – 12. Although there is no blood splatter, you do see swords penetrate people’s bodies, and knives go up under the jaw and through the head. These strikes are also accompanied by realistic sounds (slashing and piercing of swords and pain vocalisations).
There is some In-App purchasing in this game. Examples include:
