This review of Bakery Story contains the following information:
The reviewer played this game for several hours.
This app is a simulation style game set in a bakery/restaurant. The player is the baker and the object of the game is to bake and sell food items to make money to upgrade and expand the restaurant and also to reach goals if desired. The game is played in real time and the play continues when the user is not playing with food items cooking/selling etc. It does offer some educational elements with time management and money aspects as part of play. This game is quite complex for a younger child, as it has many different aspects to consider simultaneously.
The game begins with a small bakery/restaurant and the player is shown how to bake and sell food items to make money, upgrade the restaurant and achieve goals. The game is downloaded to the device via Google Play and requires the internet to run. There is an option to connect to other ‘real’ people by visiting their restaurants or invite them to visit yours. Players can also create a ‘log in’ and sign into the ‘Storm8’ community and are also able to SMS and email people they know to invite them to play the game. Adverts and goals to download more Storm8 games are common throughout the game, and to ‘speed up’ the cooking time of food the player can watch video advertising of other games – most of these appear to be simulated slot/gambling games. The player can easily purchase more gems with real money by simply clicking ‘buy’ through Google Play.
Gems are available for purchase as per below:
