This review of Bluey: Let’s Play! contains the following information:
Reviewer played all available in the free version (the kitchen and backyard).
Bluey: Let’s Play! is an entertainment app designed for young children. It involves the familiar Bluey characters from the well-known TV show of the same name. Players choose a character to enter Bluey’s house and play in various rooms and outdoors in the garden. The player can drag, tap and stack items to play. In the kitchen, for example, the player can tap on the fridge to open it and remove food items by tapping on them. The food items can be gathered to make a meal. Outdoors in the backyard, there are many games to play by tapping on items such as a trampoline, a pool, ride-in car etc. Fine motor skills are required to play this game.
The free version of this app limits the player to two ‘rooms’ (the kitchen and backyard) and two characters (Bingo and Bluey), which is likely to quickly become monotonous. A subscription of $9.99 per month is quite high for a children’s app but this will unlock all content, including more characters and rooms, and can be ended at any time. Access to settings requires an adult to enter numbers or shapes, which would prevent under 5’s gaining access. Pop-up adverts for other Budge apps are also present. It is recommended, therefore, that children up to the age of 8 will need some parental guidance.
