Comic Life is a creative app that has comic templates (four different styles) set up for the user to insert their own photos, text, graphics and more. The interface is easy to use and although the graphics are limited you can add speech bubble, arrows, and 3D text. The end product is a customised comic style document that can be shared on social media or printed.
This app mimics the creation of a comic book in real life. The learning opportunities include developing literacy skills by creating a short photo story (including text) and developing IT skills that lead to the creation of a digital document. However, because of the simple nature of the app and the limited options some older children may become frustrated quickly. Parents should also be aware that the app has access to the devices camera, and that social media sharing is not protected by a password - therefore it is recommended that children under 13 years of age use this app with parental supervision.
