This review of Cookies Cat Blast contains the following information:
A representative amount of levels was played to complete this review.
This tap and go matching game is themed around pet cats and dogs that want to be fed treats. This can be achieved by tapping on groups of the same-coloured tiles. Tapping on large clusters of tiles is rewarded with more points and boosters. In each level, a specific task has to be fulfilled within a certain amount of moves, otherwise a life is lost.
The game has a clear entertainment rather than educational or learning focus – some fine motor skills are required and strategic thinking helps to collect more points and reach the level's goal within fewer moves. Actual game play is free of ads. The player can opt to watch an ad to be rewarded with an extra life. There is a section that advertises related apps – clicking on an icon leads to the app store. The app contains a shop to purchase in-game currency, which can be exchanged for extra lives and moves. Clicking on a product leads to the app store where one click confirms the purchase. Parents are therefore advised to disable in-app purchases in the device settings to avoid unauthorised purchases.
In-app purchases include various packages of in-game currency ranging from $1.99 to 159.99.
The app does not require the user to create an account or to provide any personal information. However, the player is encouraged to connect with other players on Facebook in order to share game progress and to exchange lives. This requires creating or logging into an existing Facebook account.
At the time of review, the reviewer found no simulated gambling content.
