This review of Crafty Cut - all access contains the following information:
Our reviewer played the game for several hours.
Crafty Cut is a puzzle game that requires players to rotate various 3D shapes in order to find the appropriate place to cut it to reveal the required 2D shape. For example, one level requires the player to cut into a 3D cylinder to reveal an oblong rectangle on the cut surface. Rotation of the shapes is achieved by swiping left, right, up and down. Cutting is achieved by pressing on a point just outside of the shape, dragging a line across and then letting go. The player then selects the 2D surface and hits the Submit button. The aim of the game is to use the required amount of cuts to make the best 2D shape as possible. If players subscribe, then other game modes unlock, such as: Rotate Mode (rotate the 3D shape to fit the on-coming hole) and Combine Mode (fit pieces together to make the require shape). The subscription also allows full access to other educational Touch Press Games.
Crafty Cut is an educational game that allows children to practice complex cognitive processes such as mental rotation, spatial awareness, processing speed and general problem solving.
Parents only need to be aware that subscribing to this game could be easily achieved through pressing a couple of buttons - which provides one week free but then automatically deducts $7.49 (AUD) from your account each month (until cancelled). Most devices should be set to require a password for every purchase – however in some cases, people may have it set to require a password only after a set amount of time (usually 15 minutes) following a previous purchase. To check this on your iPad, go to Settings > iTunes & App Store > Password Settings > Purchases and In-App Purchases, you can then select “Always Require” (a password).
There is the option to 'upgrade' to the paid version of this app which is by monthly subscription:
