This review of Cut the Rope: Magic contains the following information:
Around 50 of a total of around 160 levels were played for the review.
The goal of this game is to solve a series of science puzzles. In over 160 levels, the main character ‘Om Nom’ must retrieve stolen candies from an evil wizard. Om Nom can transform into magical creatures, each of which has a useful skill.
The app encourages consideration of basic science concepts, such as the concepts of gravity and chain reactions, as well as logic, reasoning and strategic thinking. Levels can be played over and over again – the app thus gives the opportunity to be persistent and solve puzzles through trial and error. In each level, the player can collect up to 3 stars. A certain amount of stars are needed to receive the in-game currency and to unlock more levels. "Magic fireflies" provide level solutions. The purchase of in-game currency is frequently advertised through pop-ups and written prompts that are linked to an online shop. Parental guidance is therefore recommended.
