This review of Doc McStuffins: Baby Nursery contains the following information:
All levels completed.
Doc McStuffins: Baby Nursery is a fun game for young children. In the free app there are two baby dolls children can choose to play with: “Cece” and “Bunny”. The player then chooses an activity to play with including: play time, bath time, sleep (nap) time, meal time, play peek-a-boo, nappy (diaper) changing time and birthday party time. The player taps on various objects to interact with the doll, which coos and laughs in response.
After each activity, a partial sticker is given. This is completed after repeated plays of the activity. Statements such as ‘you’re the best’, and ‘you’re amazing’ are made when activities are completed. Stickers can be collected as rewards and saved to an album. These stickers can then be used to decorate a picture.
Doc McStuffins: Baby Nursery is a brightly coloured and happy game for young children to interact with. However, it is quite simplistic, only requiring tapping on various objects and moving some around the screen to get a reaction. There is no goal to the game (apart from collecting stickers) and it is directed by a voice-over, telling the player what to do. The voice-over and language (such as diaper) is American, which may be a drawback for Australian children.
There are two free baby dolls, after which they must be purchased (see in-app purchases). The access to the store is through a parental lock where a parent has to type in the written numbers, which will probably prevent young children from being able to gain access. The app store states that the app does advertise other Disney products and third party products, though none were seen by the reviewer. Parental guidance is, however, recommended for under 5’s.
Access to the app’s store is available through a parental lock. Parents have to type in the written numbers and are then asked if they wish to purchase another doll. You can choose between yes or no.
