This review of Doomsday: Zombie Army contains the following information:
Our Reviewer completed up to level 14.
In Doomsday: Zombie Army, players must build a home base and train an army of soldiers in order to protect themselves from attacking zombies. This is achieved by choosing a base and tapping and upgrading various features such as weapons, defence, specialised soldiers etc. Once zombies are located through the radar, players must select and build an army and then send them into battle. Fighting is achieved simply by tapping the relevant group of soldiers and then on the group of zombies that you want to attack. Fighting is done on a turn by turn basis. Players can also join online alliances and fight together on joint missions. The aim of the game is to keep your camp alive and wipe out all the remaining zombies.
Although the iTunes age rating for this game is 9+, the developer’s notes are as follows: “under our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, you must be at least 12 years of age to play or download Doomsday: Zombie Army”. However, as players can join alliances and text each other, it is suggested that parental guidance is needed for adolescents aged 13 – 15. This is certainly not a game for children 12 and under. Regarding game-play itself, the zombies are quite grotesque, and some emit screeches that some children may find a bit scary. Having said this, all characters on screen are fixed (do not move in real time) and there is no graphic body damage, weapon connecting to body, or blood splatter through the fighting scenes.
