This review of DoubleU Casino - Free Slots contains the following information:
The game does not involve levels, and players merely play until thier number of tokens and in-game currency runs out.
This is a Casino-style game with various gambling games. The game has a wide variety of slot machines to play through, as well as activities such as Poker. The objective of the game is to earn more money. There are limited skills needed, as it is a simple button-push game and the chance of winning or losing is chance-based.
When the app is opened, players are encouraged to log in via a Facebook account or a DUC Login Account. After the app loads, a Welcome pop-up screen appears that states ‘The Ultimate Casino Experience - $1 million free chips!’ with a button to continue. Once players receive their $1 million chips, a second pop-up screen appears – this allows players to collect more free chips each day, depending on the number of slot machine spins they play.
Players can choose from a range of casino-based games to play from the home menu screen. There is a range of slot games to play, each with different animations. The machines range from a per-line bet of $200 (for a jackpot of $102.88 million, up to a per-line bet of $20,000 for a jackpot of $903.57 million. On each slot game, players can allocate their bet amount from a selection of 5 amounts, as well as engage in Auto and Spin plays. Auto continues to spin until the machine is manually stopped by players, whereas Spin allows players a single spin. If money is won on any given round, the app has flashing images and slot-machine sound effects to encourage players to continue.
There is a Spin Now game that allows players to spin a WheelBonus to obtain additional coins. This can only be done once every 12 hours. The game also has a Mystery Box function that offers additional free coins, and can also be done every 12 hours.
The app contains a game known as Video Poker – this has several games within it, such as ‘Jacks or Better’ and ‘Deuces Wild 2’. These games also have jackpots of different amounts, depending on the size of the bet a player is willing to put down. Players are informed at the beginning that each of the poker hands will offer a different monetary reward. For instance, a Two Pair will give 20k chips, a Straight Flush will offer 500k chips, whilst a Royal Flush will offer 2.5M chips. Players have the options of changing their bet, their hand, as well as the speed of the game. If players receive some cards they wish to hold onto, and others they wish to redraw, they must simply tap on those particular cards in order to ‘hold’ them. These cards will then remain static whilst the others change. If players have a winning hand, these cards will be highlighted with flashing lights around them and the numeric value of the win will be displayed in large numbers on the screen. Players then have a chance to double their winnings – this is done in a separate side game, whereby a particular card is displayed, and players must guess whether the next card shown will be higher or lower in value than the existing one. If they guess correctly, their winnings are doubled. They may then either choose to play this again to potentially double those winnings further, or to collect the money they have already made.
This app carries considerable risk to children due to the substantial amount of simulated gambling involved. The app covers multiple casino-based games, encouraging in-game spending and repetitive gambling. There is limited learning potential as the games are very simplistic, and are largely played by pressing a ‘play/deal’ button – they do not involve much strategy at all, and are mostly chance-driven.
Yes: There is in-app purchasing in relation to collecting more casino tokens. Casino chips can be purchased in a range of packages, including 200,000 chips for $0.99US, 750,000 chips for $2.99US, 1,500,000 chips for $4.99US, 3,600,000 chips for $8.99US, 9,500,000 chips for $18.99US, 27,300,000 chips for $38.99, 66,000,000 chips for $59.99US, and 200,000,000 chips for $99.99US.
Players are able to log in via Facebook when the app first opens. They are also able to invite friends to play the game via both SMS and email. The message is an automatically created message, that states ‘Hey! Lets hit some slots with me at DUC! It’s so much fun!’ with a link to download the app also provided. It is also possible to ‘Friend’ other players, and to send them gifts.
