Not fully reviewed yet.
This App presents a set of mini games, each practicing skills in phonics – that is the relationship between letters and sounds.
This App is designed to help children learn about letters and their sounds, with a collection of mini games for each sound including activities that help practice letter formation, letter sounds and letter blends. The app relies heavily on rewards and children are rewarded for their work. A range of accents are available and the ability have an Australian accent was cited as beneficial by parents involved in user testing, particularly for sounds that we pronounce differently in Australia (such as z being pronounced as “zed” rather than “zee”). In user testing the children playing this found the activities engaging, particularly given the range of activities on offer.
A series of Apps follow in this continuum including Eggy Phonics 1 (reviewed here) Eggy Phonics 2 and Eggy Phonics 3
