This review of Fluvsies – A Fluff to Luv contains the following information:
The game was played for several hours.
Fluvsies – A Fluff to Luv is a virtual pet game, designed to teach kids about caring for pets. Pets are hatched from an egg and players can feed them, watch them grow, play with them and clothe them. From the home screen, access is available to adverts for other games from the same developer and a privacy policy. Pressing the large play button takes the player into a bright and colourful space where an egg is waiting to hatch. A cute little pet emerges from the egg, which needs a bottle of milk to help it grow. There are a couple of pets available and then further pets are hatched by using points earned in game play. The hatching of the eggs can take a long time or the player can watch an ad to avoid waiting.
There are several mini games in the app including: a colouring-in game (in which there are two pictures that are free, the rest need the player to watch an ad), which involves tapping on a colour palette to fill in the white picture; a game in which a pet has to move upwards to collect coins and earn points and rewards along the way; a basketball game which requires the pets to aim a basketball into a moving hoop which also earns points and rewards. Other games become available as the game progresses as does the environment in which the pets play. This expands to include a dressing room where the player can choose from a number of different outfits to dress their pets, a larger play room and an outside balcony.
Fluvsies – A Fluff to Luv is a bright, colourful and fun game for kids to play. It is easy to play and simple to follow. However, there is a high level of advertising, which is a concern. Players can watch an ad to speed up the hatching process, earn points, play extra games etc. In addition, pop-up ads frequently occur during game play which can be very annoying. The developer does state that all ads are appropriate for children and in accordance with COPP and GDPR regulations. Another problem occurs, however, when watching an ad, that a player can click through to websites for more information. A way to avoid this is that play can be offline, which would be a recommendation for younger children.
