This app allows the user to create and design 3D figures online. These creations can then be shared on social media or printed on paper and folded. Fine motor skills are required to drop and drag colours, patterns, stickers or photos onto a virtual sheet of paper/template. This app encourages creativity and provides an opportunity to learn about and recognise 3D shapes as well as practice cutting and folding when the figure is printed out and folded (see below screen shot).
When the user opens this app for the first time they are given a guide of the app including instructions on how to create, print and fold 3D figures/shapes using colours and designs from within the app or by uploading their own drawings or photos. Once a 3D figure is chosen the user can select specific tools (ie paint brush), colours or photos to decorate the 3D figure. When the user saves, shares or prints the design a small box appears asking ‘if you are an adult’ and to move to the next screen the user must swipe two fingers to the left. Once they have done this they are directed to make a foldify account. To do this they must enter their name, email and a password. If parents sign up for a Foldify account they need to be aware that the app has access to the devices camera roll (this can be switched off in settings). Once this step is completed it is easy to print or share artwork via email, Facebook or Twitter (see screen shot below).
