Friendly Shapes is a collection of activities aimed at pre-schoolers, including painting, puzzle, and counting games. Unless the full version or an ad remover is purchased, the app contains frequent ads to external sites and encourages in-app purchases. Parental guidance for children under 9 is therefore recommended.

This review of Friendly Shapes contains the following information:
All available features in the free version were considered in this review.
This app contains a collection of eight education and entertainment style activities aimed at a pre-school level. Children can practice counting (up to 10), drag objects into their place in a picture, paint pictures or colour in, listen to and read along to stories, solve jigsaw puzzles, or play memory match games. The games offer some learning opportunities for young children such as counting, memorising, and reading along, and room for creative expression in the painting activity.
This app does not require the user to create an account or to provide any personal information. Although the app can initially be downloaded for free, parents should be aware that only a very limited selection of content is available unless the full version or separate packages are purchased. There is a section linked to the start page advertising related apps. In the free version, there are frequent pop-up ads for in-app purchases that interrupt game play. Clicking on ads connects the user to the app store. Parents are advised to supervise game play and use password protection, and disable in-app purchases in the device settings. The free version also contains ads to external sites such as online stores. An ad free version can be purchased separately.

The free version contains ads that are permanently flashing in the bottom section of the screen. They link to external online trading sites like gumtree. These ads can be removed by purchasing the full version or an ad remover. That does not, however, remove advertising for in-app purchases and for related apps in a designated "more apps" section accessible through the start page.
