This review of Frozen Free Fall contains the following information:
Our reviewer played the game to level 14.
Frozen Free Fall is set in the magical land of Arendelle. The player has to match three tiles of the same colour, which then drop to the bottom of the screen, collecting points and rewards as they fall. It starts at a simple level and progressively gets more difficult as more points are needed to complete the level.
The player can choose from Anna, Elsa and Olaf to help them complete the challenge. Each character has certain powers to help the player such as Anna’s torch, which burns up an entire row of crystals or Elsa’s glacier power-up, which makes crystals of the same colour disappear. Unfortunately, only one or two of these are free. After that they must be purchased in the app store. See in-app purchases for more details. After a certain number of levels have been completed, the player can enter the Arendelle Plaza where they can build up the town using points and rewards. There are hundreds of puzzles and more seasonal puzzles and game modes can be unlocked as the game proceeds.
Frozen Free Fall is a fun game to play with beautiful graphics and with many layers to it. In addition to the tile matching game, which is quite mesmerising, Arendelle Plaza is a fun activity for children to create. Children will also enjoy interacting with their favourite characters.
The main drawback is the constant request to purchase more items from the app store. There is no parental zone or lock to prevent children entering the app store. The app does come with a warning, which states that it contains in-app purchases and advertising of Disney products and third party products. Adverts can also be watched in exchange for rewards. There is also the option to connect to social media to connect with others. For these reasons the app is not recommended for children under 9 and parental guidance is recommended for older children.
