This review of Green Screen by Do Ink contains the following information:
Reviewer explored the App for several hours, creating a number of movies and reviewed randomly selected pictures and animations from the Prop Library.
This App is a movie/video making App, using Green Screen technology to create videos and pictures with special effects, like a television weather report. Three layers of images can be used to create the project, using saved images, videos, live camera and the Prop Library.
The instruction page is comprehensive requiring good reading skills, a video sample and tutorial are supplied. A ‘green screen’ is needed, so some adult help may be required to source and set this up, the App requires images from camera roll, iCloud or other sources.
The App allows for sharing of projects, including sharing to your device’s Facebook, Dropbox, etc these can be easily turned on or off in the App, with no parental controls.
There is a link to the App Store to purchase another App by the developer, with no parental controls.
The Prop Library (the developer states, "with thousands of drawings and animations") contains cartoon images/animations of violence, death, one has hand writing that states, “your dead”, weapons and some potentially frightening images for young children, such as skulls, skeletons, derogatory remarks, etc. This function becomes disabled when offline.
(* Please note the background was chosen by the reviewer.)
This App is easy to navigate once the instructions have been read. The tutorial and sample video are helpful and can be reviewed. The reviewer created a ‘green screen’ with green fabric and a blue sheet, both worked successfully.
Sharing of projects is easily done when exporting or saving, parental guidance needed to explain the implications of sharing.
The App has some technical issues, such as crashing, since a recent update.
The App can be used offline, disabling potential sharing and the Prop Library.
No connection with others through social media was noted.
