This app was played for approximately 30 minutes
This app is a simulated poker machine or slot machine gambling style app. The skill required to play this game is the ability to navigate through the screens through the use of icons.
When you open this app you are presented with an opening screen with an offer get 1,000,000 coins for logging in with Facebook! Other options include: Play on all your devices, Daily Facebook Bonus, Play with your friends, Login in with Facebook, Or Login as guest
The bottom left hand corner contains a logo for Aristocrat with the words “An Aristocrat product”. The bottom right hand corner contained a bar code like logo with Product Madness.
Aristrocrat Leisure Limited is an ASX 100 listed company with product offerings which include electronic gaming products and casino management systems.
The reviewer elected to play as guest.
Opening screen presents a chocolate wheel with a range of $ amounts to win and the words "Welcome to Heart of Vegas! Tap the wheel to spin for your bonus". No other options are presented on the screen so tapping the screen triggers the wheel to spin and the number counter to increase when the spinning stops there are cheers and the winnings of 160,000 coins are added to the pool of 2,000,000 coins.
The game opens and the player can click the bar at the top right hand of the screen to receive a bonus that refills every three hours. With encouraging words of “So make sure you come back and collect it”.
After pressing a small x on the top of the screen the player is presented with a total 2,046,000 coins credit and an option to select from a range of images. Some of these images are of women who are presented in a sexualised or objectified manner.
The option selected was Dolphin Treasure. The player can choose to play 600 lines or 100 lines.
"100 lines" was selected and the game opened at level 1 with a 5 drum style slot machine with images of sea creatures and representations of playing cards 9, 10, J, Q, K.
Total bet is 2,000 coins and the player has an option to spin by selecting a green icon on the bottom right of the screen.
When the spin icon is selected there is an option to stop the reels from spinning. Between each spin the words “Good Luck” appear on top of the pokie machine. When there is a win the wining combinations flash, with some images becoming animated.
When the player had spun for the 12th time 10,000 coins were won, upon which alarms sound, and triumphant music plays in congratulations on winning 15 free games. These games play through automatically.
Another win presents the words “ Yes, you’ve done it” and celebration music plays again and images of fireworks, coins being tossed and an escalating number count of coins won appears on the screen.
If was difficult to tell if the levels change due to the number of spins the player makes, or if it was based on the amount of money added to the total coins available to wager.
When a player has levelled up they receive bonus coins which appear to increase with each level completed.
Alongside the coin bank in the top left hand corner is a green buy icon/button which when selected presents the in-app purchasing options. (see in-app purchasing). You can use real world money to buy coins for use in play.
After exiting the buy section the player may be presented with a super Sale option to buy 1,250,000 coins for only $4.99 USD. The green accept button is visually prominent. However, the red cross to close out of this offer is a tiny cross in the top right hand corner of the prompt box. In the bottom left hand corner of the screen is an information icon which when selected gives information about the winning combination and other options. When a player has a win, messages appear on the top of the machine such as “You’re a rock star” ‘I’d like to see that again” and other messages of congratulations. Within the game there is a panel in the top right hand corner which provides information about a jackpot bonus. During game play a small pop up message can appear which congratulates a player on winning the bonus.
This app has all the elements of a pokie room in a casino. The payouts appeared to happen more often than the reviewer would anticipate from a regulated pokie machine.
Yes: in-app purchasing is available.
On the screen alongside the coin total there is a buy button. When selected the player is presented with shop option where they can “Choose your deal”
