This review of Interactive Telling Time - Learning to tell time is fun contains the following information:
All play modes and difficulty levels were reviewed.
The app allows players to learn how to tell the time using analogue and digital clocks as well as practising time telling in 14 languages including: French, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese and Italian. Different play modes include moving clock hands to a certain time, correctly identifying a displayed time and exploring the conversion from analogue to digital.
Compared to the free version (“Interactive Telling Time Lite”) the paid version contains more difficulty levels, more clock designs, and five additional play modes including a clock tutorial and conversion from analogue to digital.
The app motivates players to learn to tell the time by providing different clock designs, encouraging voice-overs and virtual awards (eg. a fish tank that fills up with more fish as the player earns stars for correctly solved tasks). Most instructions are written as well as spoken. In some areas, for example a comprehensive clock tutorial, children who are not able to read yet will require guidance. The level of difficulty (including different time intervals, 12 versus 24-hour mode) and language can be selected in the “parents’ section” which is accessible to anyone who can read the instructions. The parents’ section also contains the option to share and like the app on Facebook and Twitter. The “More” section links up with similar apps that can be purchased. Parental guidance is therefore recommended.
