Reviewers comments

When the app is first opened, the player is shown a colourful screen with four options. In the top right hand corner is a For Parents section. When this section is tapped, players are asked to solve a simple mathematical equation to access the section. Within the parents section, users can download a variety of LEGO apps, read about the app, and rate the app. There is also a section where users can purchase a variety of LEGO sets that feature throughout the app, and this directs parents to the online LEGO shop. Users can also adjust sleep times in this menu. Doing so prevents the app from working between specific hours of the day.

On the main menu, there is a box in the bottom right hand corner that takes the user to a section where they can download all of the other apps by the developer. Entering this requires solving a simple mathematical equation.

In the bottom left hand corner of the menu, is a button where players can be taken to an in-app cinema and watch short LEGO stop-motion animation clips.

When the main section of the app is started, players are asked to add carriages to the back of a locomotive engine. Once the train is built, players can pick up passengers by tapping the screen, and drag them onto the train. Players can also pick up machinery, flowers, and mined ore from a quarry. Once the train has been filled completely, players are shown a moving image of their full train travelling across a colourful landscape. Players are then tasked with refuelling the train. Along their journey, players are stopped and required to use lego templates to build a bridge, and pick up additional passengers from another station. Once the tasks are complete, the player is shown a screen with the train driver getting out of the train to the sound of cheering, and the app begins again.

About games and gambling

Most games contain elements of risk, chance and knowledge, that is why they are fun to play. There is growing concern about the impacts of simulated gambling games on the health and wellbeing of children. That's why we are identifying games that contain gambling elements on our site.

The State Government of South Australia's web site contains information about these concerns.
