This review of Little Hospitals contains the following information:
At least 3 or 4 items were located for each character and both mini games were played.
The objective of the game is to locate lost items for the characters in the hospital. Items can be in any room and players must open cupboards to find some items and visually search room by room for other items. Players can also respond to accidents by tapping on an ambulance to drive to the scene of the accident. The injured party is retrieved and transported back to the hospital. There is also a matching and colouring in game.
Whilst the game premise is relatively simple, there are no instructions, so parental co-play is recommended to guide younger players. Fine motor control is required to switch between close-ups of individual rooms and a widescreen view of the whole hospital. Characters within each room then take turns waving at the player to get their attention. Tapping on the character causes a thought bubble to appear showing an item the character is looking for within the hospital.
There are opportunities to develop memory skills in the matching game and fine motor skills are practiced in the colouring in game and via the swiping and tapping required to play the game. Unfortunately, game utility is still quite limited and further expenditure is required to get more activities in the hospital including a dentist, paediatrician and pharmacy packs ($1.49 each) or a Super pack including all three packs plus rescue activities and a different landscape ($2.99).
Additional rooms in the hospital and activities can be purchased by clicking on the trolley icon on the homepage. Access requires answering a simple mathematical sum with direct access to purchasing after completing the sum.
