Magic 10 is a virtual card game that requires basic adding up skills, helping children memorise and practice which number combinations equal 10, such as 3 and 7, 2 and 8 etc. The player is dealt cards displaying numbers from 0 to 10 and has to pick the correct cards from an open deck to add to 10. Correct answers are rewarded with points. Players can choose from three different decks of cards: depending on the skill level, one deck has numbers and a grid of 10 tick boxes so that children can count empty boxes to work out the correct answer, another has numbers along with the equivalent number of stars, and the third deck has numbers only. It can be played by one or two players who take it in turns and compete.
The app contains no ads or in-app purchases and the player is not required to create an account or provide any personal details. Written instructions on game play are provided and parents might want to assist younger children by explaining the rules.
