This review of Marvel Guardian of the Galaxy contains the following information:
This game was played for several days
Guardians of the Galaxy TTG is based on the second movie of the same name. Players begin by selecting episodes that feature story lines which can be directed through player choice. At certain points during the episode, players get to choose the response of the main character; “Peter Quill, AKA “Star Lord”, from a selection of 4 different responses. The chosen response influences the narration and direction of the story. The game also allows players to move characters at times and interact with the environment.
Players will need to be able to read well, as when the 4 options appear on the screen, the game gives you a very short time in which to respond – before it automatically continues without a selected option.
In terms of game play, this app is quite well designed and would be appealing to fans of the comic book and movie. However, even though the iTunes store itself notes: “Infrequent/Mild Alcohol, Tobacco, or Drug Use or References, Infrequent/Mild Profanity or Crude Humour, Infrequent/Mild Cartoon or Fantasy Violence, Infrequent/Mild Realistic Violence”, they have placed an age recommendation of 12+ on the game. Further to the obvious scenes of violence which include large guns, knives and swords – some scenes that feature alcohol use are not appropriate for 12 year olds. For example, there’s a scene where all the main characters are drinking at a bar. “Drax” begins to take a large drink from his cup and players are given options of what Star Lord can reply with – which include: “Chug, Chug, Chug!”. Due to scenes such as this one, it is recommended that parental guidance is exercised for children aged 13 – 15 and not suitable for children 12 and under.
Players can purchase the Multi-Pack (Episodes 2 -5) for $22.99
