This review of Mini Dayz – Survival contains the following information:
The game was played for several days
This survival game places the player in a post-apocalyptic world where they must survive through fighting, avoiding zombies, and scavenging for food and water. Players are dropped on an island and move through the landscape obtaining objects (such as guns, knives, clothing, food, water, etc.) in order to make it to the other side. The aim is to gather materials in order to repair a boat so that they can escape the island and its many zombies. The game is set with a bird’s eye view and all characters and features on the screen are very small and often difficult to make out. The graphics are also very “blocky”, so good eye sight is needed as well as fine motor skills to navigate and select objects. Due to social media connectivity and cartoon violence, this game is not recommended for children 12 and under.
Despite the fact that the players can kill zombies with guns, knives, baseball bats etc; what’s implied by this violence is a lot worse than what is actually shown visually. As noted above, the characters in this game are very small and not very well defined and hence when a fight occurs, you don’t actually see graphic physical violence. The worst of these attacks is the sudden and potentially scary growls that the zombies make when they start pursuing you. Having said this, as we’ve recommended a 13+ rating on this game, children of this age are not very likely to be bothered by this aspect of the game. Further to this, the game has some bugs and often crashes, placing the player behind in the progress that they’ve just made.
