This review of MONOPOLY GO! contains the following information:
Two boards completed.
MONOPOLY GO! is a board game app, based on the traditional Monopoly game with the familiar characters, tokens and property places. The game requires the player to tap on the ‘GO!’ button to roll the dice, which advances the token the required amount of spaces. Property is collected along the way as well as houses and hotels, making money as you go. There are several ‘boards’ to be completed, including London, New York, Paris and Venice. Stickers are also collected along the way and stored in albums. These stickers can be traded on the MONOPOLY GO! Facebook Trading Group.
MONOPOLY GO! is an easy and fun game to play, which can be played alone or with friends you can invite to play through Facebook or contacts. The game requires Internet connectivity to play, which, together with interaction with Facebook, makes it unsuitable for children under 13. Landing on a station can take you to either a ‘bank heist’, in which you can win money by matching sets of 3, or an attack on an opponent’s board, in which you knock down a building, winning you money. In-app purchasing is also readily available to buy extra packs to increase your net worth. There are no parental locks, which again warrants the app unsuitable for younger children.
There is In-App purchasing in this game, ranging from $1.99 – $299.99 per item, examples include:
**PLEASE NOTE: There are no parental locks for in-app purchases, the player just has to press the ‘buy’ button.**
There is some online connectivity, such as:
**It is concerning for younger children to need Internet connectivity to play this game.**
