Monster Math 2 is a 2 dimensional side scroller mathematical puzzle game. The objective is to solve mathematical equations and defeat enemies. The skills required are addition, subtraction, multiplication, and motor skills.
When the app is opened, the player is asked to create an account using a name, the player can input any word and it will be used as the account name. Once an account is created, the player is asked to optionally enter a parent’s email address to receive regular notifications about in-app progress. On the main screen, the player has a variety of options. Story, which is the app proper, takes the player to the main game. This is a two dimensional side-scroller app where to take part in a battle; the player must solve mathematical equations. These vary in difficulty based on both the player’s performance, and the grade selected at the beginning of the game. As the player solves equations by selecting the correct answer, the in-game character defeats waves of enemies by shooting coloured blocks at them. The game progresses as the player defeats bosses at the end of the level.
On the main menu, there is a multiplayer section. Pressing this takes the player to a numerical lock, where the player must enter a series of numerals presented as words, as digits. This section allows the player to download the multiplayer version of the app from the app store.
The promotions section of the app allows the player to share the app with friends using a promotional code. A math lock is used for this section, and then players can share a link to a download code for this app with others. Doing so unlocks one free world for the sharing player if the recipient downloads and starts the app.
At the bottom of the page is an option to unlock the full version of the app for $9.99. This allows players to play on 4 worlds, and battle a variety of monsters. Within the main screen, players also have the option to rate the app, and change the in-app language. The in-app sounds can also be turned off.
