This review of Peanuts: Snoopy's Town Tale contains the following information:
This app was reviewed to level 8
Peanuts: Snoopy’s Town Tale is a timer-and-quest building app. The objective of the app is to create a functional town by building structures, placing decorative items around the neighbourhood and play as various characters. Players receive rewards as they continue to build more and improve the town. The skills required to use the app include decision-making and motor skills.
When the app opens, players are introduced to Snoopy – he welcomes players to the neighbourhood and begins telling them a story about the town. Players are asked to place a banner within the town square as their first action. To do so, players must select the Welcome Banner from the decorations tab in their inventory – it costs 5 gold coins to place. Players are rewarded with additional gold coins, green money notes as well as stars after they complete this. It is then suggested that players create a rec room and gourmet kitchen, to make the town more habitable. Players are able to choose the exact location where they wish to place buildings. It is also possible to rush the building of these things by spending in-game currency, in the form of green notes.
Snoopy then tells players that they should meet the person who cooks him dinner, Charlie Brown, as ‘he might actually have a crush on you’. In order to meet new characters, players must build them homes to reside in. Players can encourage their characters to hug within the game – doing so earns them similar rewards as building. Players also level-up within the game as a result of their building. The game offers a wide selection of items to craft and build, including houses for characters, Suppliers (e.g. trees, flowerbeds, lemon stands), and Decorations (e.g. school crossing sign, team bench, large bushes, psychiatric help stands). These all assist in fleshing out the town and making it fully functional and resourceful.
Players are able to make in-app purchases within the game for real-life currency, and can buy gold coins in packages of 800 for $2.77, 2000 for $6.94, 4500 for $13.89, 10,000 for $27.80, 26,000 for $69.52, and 55,000 for $139.05. Green notes can also be purchased in packages of the same prices. These items are utilised within the game to buy better items and buildings to place within the town, as well as to speed up building time.
There is an icon within the game’s bottom right-hand menu that allows players to connect via Facebook and play the game via the social networking site. The app informs players that connecting via Facebook will allow them to visit friends, allow them to exchange gifts with friends, and collect daily rewards.
