This review of Pocoyo Playset: Let’s Move contains the following information:
All available playsets were reviewed.
Pocoyo Playset Let’s Move contains four different play modes: "Pocoyo says" is an adaptation of the kid's game "Simon says", encouraging children to imitate movements. "Get moving" can be played with up to 3 competing players and contains different puzzles themed around body parts and movements. In "Word Machine", different body parts, their functions and movements are demonstrated and named in English as well as Spanish. "Story Maker" allows the player to create their own stories, selecting the setting and characters, and adding drawings and voice recordings.
The app offers a variety of interactive games that help young children explore and learn about body parts and movements (e.g. "legs", "clapping", "swimming", "which body part do you use for running?"). The app creates learning opportunities by encouraging players to listen to and follow instructions, by introducing thematic vocabulary – both in English and in Spanish, and fosters creativity. Spoken instructions and intuitive game-play make the app suitable for young players. Some play modes request access to the tablet's camera and microphone, enabling players to watch their own movements or to record commentary to a created story. The games can still be played when these features are disenabled in device settings.
