All available features were considered in this review
In Sago Mini Babies Dress Up there are four baby animal cartoon characters (a dog, cat, rabbit and chicken) which children can dress up. By clicking one of the characters, a new screen opens where the child can drag different hats, facial features (e.g., moustache) and clothes onto the character. The animal makes little sounds (e.g., ‘boop’ or ‘oooohh’) during the dressing process. When the child is happy with the dress up selection and by clicking the arrow back, children will be presented again with the four characters and can select another character to dress up. There are hundreds of dress up combinations, however there are no stages or levels to the game. The child also has the opportunity to take an image of the four characters (a pop up asks permission to access camera- adult assistance would be required), and the image will appear in the phone’s camera roll. Basic motor skills are required, however reading skills are not required as there are no instructions to the game.
Sago Mini Babies Dress Up is likely to be entertaining for young children - as there are hundreds of dress up combinations, and the opportunity to take photos of these creations. However, older children are likely to be disinterested due to the simplicity and lack of progress. Although there is some in-app purchasing and internet access, these are both protected by a sound parental lock, which asks for the date of birth of the player, and if U18, access is denied. Internet connection is required to access those features, however the game can be played without internet access. There is no other concerning content related to advertising or gambling.
