App description

Shapes mosaic puzzle for kids is a multilingual 2-dimensional tangram puzzle.  The aim of the app is to complete a puzzle board using a range of tangram shapes available.  The puzzle boards include a range of varying difficulties.

Reviewers comments

The app offers 88 different tangram puzzles of varying complexity.  Once a puzzle has been selected the app produces a shadow outline of the puzzle to be completed onto a template.  If the sound has been selected the app also states the name of the object chosen to complete.  A range of paintbrushes of varying colours is available on the right hand side of the screen, along with an eraser, a help button, a completed picture of the puzzle chosen and a range of 2-dimensional shapes that can be used to complete the puzzle.  The player chooses a colour from the paintbrush palette and also a 2-dimensional tangram shape.  The player then selects the correct placement on the puzzle board.  If the correct position is selected a specific sound is made.  If an incorrect position is chosen the app makes a different sound indicating that it is incorrect.  By choosing the help button, the app displays a coloured outline of the puzzle to be completed to assist the player.  Once all correct 2-dimensional tangrams are placed onto the puzzle board the puzzle is completed and a new board can be selected.  A good understanding of spatial awareness is required to successfully access this game.

About games and gambling

Most games contain elements of risk, chance and knowledge, that is why they are fun to play. There is growing concern about the impacts of simulated gambling games on the health and wellbeing of children. That's why we are identifying games that contain gambling elements on our site.

The State Government of South Australia's web site http://nogame.com.au/ contains information about these concerns.
