This review of Sizzle & Stew contains the following information:
Our Reviewer played and explored all aspects of the game.
Sizzle and Stew are a Llama and a Sloth who enjoy making a big mess in the kitchen. The player moves the animals’ arms to select food from the fridge, freezer or cupboard to cook by swiping along the screen. The food can be cooked in the microwave, oven or on the stove. It can be chopped, diced, liquidised and enlarged, or shrunk in various machines. The player can splash sauce on the food and wash up in the sink or wash items in the washing machine.
The food is then taken to the other room where the animals can enjoy eating it with a knife and fork, a fishing rod or hair dryer! There are several surprises in the eating room too such as boxes that pop out confectionary and a piñata donkey that does the same. It is a very colourful game and with the ability to cook and make a mess in the kitchen, it will appeal to young children.
Sizzle and Stew is a fun game for children in which they can freely explore and experiment with cooking different types of food in a variety of ways. There are several cooking appliances and tools that can be used including some machines that you wouldn’t expect to find in a kitchen. Children will enjoying making a big mess in the kitchen without having to clean up afterwards.
The screen can also be split in two so two players can play together. There are no in-app purchases, advertising or connectivity to social media. There is however, connectivity to the developer’s website which can be reached by swiping right with two fingers. This is a free play app with no particular guidelines of how to play and so parental guidance and/or co-play is therefore recommended for children under 9.
