Strawberry Shortcake Pocket Lockets is an app where you can design your own necklaces and then take photographs of you wearing them.
In Strawberry Shortcake Pocket Lockets the player begins by clicking ‘create’ to make their own necklace. The first option is a choice between the base necklace. The app comes with 12 different styles to choose from. Once the player has made their choice they press the tick to move onto the next option. The next design choice is deciding on a pendant for your necklace. The app comes with 4 free pendants but you need to pay money to access the other 14 (see In App Purchasing). Once you have chosen your pendant you have the option of putting a photograph inside. The app lets you use either your own photograph or a picture of Strawberry Shortcake. Next, the player can place a variety of beads on their necklace. The app comes with the letters A, B, C, D and E but you need to pay for the rest of the alphabet. Once you have finished designing your necklace you can ‘try it on’ by taking a picture of yourself wearing the creation. Parents can share these pictures via Facebook and email (see Online Information).
The store has a variety of extra bead packs which can be bought. To unlock everything costs $9.99. Other smaller packs cost $4.99. Purchasing of items in the store is restricted to adults only. They must answer a maths equation to buy the items.
In this app, online information and online sharing is only available in the Parent’s Corner section of the game. To access this area you must type in your birth year. The app only allows access to people who are aged 14+. In Parent's Corner you can share the pictures of the player wearing the necklace on Facebook or email. While the age restriction may prevent some children gaining access to this online sharing, an underage child can still type in a birth year that is over 14 and gain access.
