This review of Toca Life Office contains the following information:
Not fully reviewed yet.
Toca Office allows players to visit various office style buildings (e.g., a bank, courthouse, a day-care centre, etc.) and gives them the freedom to use the characters to interact with most features in the environment. Combining two or more objects can also create actions – such as placing food near the character’s mouth, which will make them eat. Players can also make their own stories and scenes through the record function – which records both actions on the screen and player narration through the microphone. There is no real set aim for this game – and that may be the point of it – as children can explore without much restriction and use their creativity and imagination to create their own stories.
Parental guidance may be needed for some children (particularly in the 4 – 8 age bracket) due to scenes that allow players to break into a bank vault and steal money without any obvious consequence (e.g., the bank alarm does not go off). Other than this, the developer’s age recommendation of 4+ would be quite suitable.
There is no tutorial at the start of this game, so players new to the Toca series of apps may not understand the app’s capabilities - until they’ve done their own trial and error explorations. Parents wanting to guide their children through this can access the “Grown-ups” section from the home screen, which has a “How to Play” guide.
