This review of LEGO® DUPLO® Food contains the following information:
All available game features were considered in the review.
Similar to LEGO and DUPLO building toys, this app offers a playful approach to everyday work related activities. Each play round simulates a day from the perspective of the person running the food stand: opening up the stand in the morning, storing delivered food, taking orders from customers and serving them, and at the end of the day, cleaning and locking up.
This interactive virtual reality app features intuitive game play and offers some learning opportunities by introducing the player to some essential activities and tasks that are required to run a food stand. One of the tasks is to use LEGO building blocks to build ice cream creations according to the customer's order, which if the blocks are combined correctly is celebrated with clapping, cheering and confetti. Although there are no in-app purchase opportunities during actual game play the start page, and "for parents" section, links to related apps and products. These sections are protected through basic maths problems like "1x6", therefore parental guidance recommended.
