This review of Virtual Table Tennis contains the following information:
Played for several days.
Virtual Table Tennis is played from a first person, 3D perspective. Play is navigated through holding your finger on the paddle and swiping in the intended direction. The power of the hit increases the faster that you swipe, and spin can also be placed on the ball with good timing.
As with the traditional game, the first player to score eleven points wins the game. Wins in the game earn the player coins – which can be used to buy accessories and new paddles, etc. Game modes include: Single and Multiplayer with both AI and real person opponents. Two people can also verse each other on the same device in real time. Due to banner ads, clip ads, connection to Facebook and in-app purchasing – this game is not recommended for children under 13 years.
Parents need to be aware of some of the features which may connect their children with other people – such as Local Multiplayer, Online Lobby and Facebook. Other features take the player right out of the app and into other applications – such as the App store or clicking on banner ads (which in one case took the reviewer to a Microsoft page with offers the player the chance to purchase Office Professional for $589 at the press of a “Buy Now” button). There is also a feature where you can watch ads to earn coins. Once you watch the ad, a box pops up asking if you want to watch another one to earn more coins. All of these video ads were for the same game: “Toon Blast” which is similar to Candy Crush.
