App description

This educational app provides a wide range of information on dinosaurs including the creatures scientific name ie APATOSAURUS, period it came from, length, sound it makes and history. There is section that provides facts and pictures that relate to the discovery and extinction of dinosaurs and a ‘news section’ which includes stories on the latest information related to this topic. There is a link to a kids version of this app, and to the app store, where large illustrations (posters) of selected Dinosaurs can be purchased (see note below re associated costs).

Reviewers comments

The app is relatively intuitive to use and mimics the format of a non-fiction book in the physical world. The use of detailed pictures, aural sounds and text means the app is accessible to a wide range of ages. Children (and adults) can increase their vocabulary on Dinosaurs and improve comprehension skills. This app encourages children to read, however, some younger children may need assistance with the more detailed sections of text.

About games and gambling

Most games contain elements of risk, chance and knowledge, that is why they are fun to play. There is growing concern about the impacts of simulated gambling games on the health and wellbeing of children. That's why we are identifying games that contain gambling elements on our site.

The State Government of South Australia's web site http://nogame.com.au/ contains information about these concerns.
