This review of World of Peppa Pig contains the following information:
The game was played for several hours.
World of Peppa Pig is an interactive educational app where players play a variety of games including puzzles, memory and strategy games. There is a ‘Play and Learn’ section which includes a few different types of games (some are locked without paying for the subscription). Examples of these games include dressing Peppa Pig for the day, dragging numbers into their correct order, putting the toys away in the toy box, ‘spot the difference task’ in 2 separate pictures of Peppa, planting seeds in the garden and watching them grow and finding Peppa’s friends during a hide and seek game. World of Peppa Pig also includes a ‘Watch’ section, where players can watch brief episodes or scenes of Peppa Pig the series, which on occasions teach important life lessons e.g. watching Peppa visit her friend in hospital with a broken leg. The ‘Create’ section allows players to paint and colour in pictures of Peppa Pig and her friends. The game requires a variety of skills such as mathematics and very basic reading and strategy skills. This game is for open ended creative play and there is no end goal.
This app gives children the opportunity to explore skills such as basic maths, reading, recognition, counting and memory which are made fun through incorporating aspects of Peppa Pig that make the series so charming for children. The free version includes approximately 8 tasks, and whilst this is engaging at the time, young children may enjoy playing these over and over, but older children may lose interest easily. Purchasing of the full paid version includes many more games, and the developer is always adding to this. Parents should be aware that subscribing and paying for the full version can be unlocked when entering the year they were born (this can actually be anything below the year 2000). For older children who can read well, entering numerous years until they find one which allows access could potentially be quite easy, so it’s advisable to restrict purchasing on your device to some extent.
There is In-App purchasing in this game, examples include:
Peppa Pig does not require internet connection to be able to play. However, connection is required for additional purchasing within the app. There is a parent zone, upon entering parents are required to enter their year of birth to be allowed access, this is where the additional purchasing is made.
At the time of review, the reviewer found no simulated gambling content. If you discover simulated gambling content in this app, please contact us with the details so we can update our review.
There is no pop-up advertising in the app. However, upon opening the app, players are presented with an advertisement for in-app purchasing and subscription. Whilst this is advertising for the current app, it is quite inviting for additional purchasing.
