This review of Zen Studio Meditation for Kids contains the following information:
Our reviewer played all available features.
Zen Studio Meditation for Kids is a geometric finger painting app. Children choose from a range of canvases (For example a geometric picture of an animal or an object) and then can ‘colour in’ the mosaic grid of triangles by tapping and swiping. There is a palette of different colours available and each tap and swipe on the canvas adds harmonious sounds to a soothing ‘Zen’ soundtrack in the background. There are two drawing modes to choose from: In the free drawing mode, the player can create and fill in an empty canvas. In the tutorial mode, the player can choose from a wide range of motifs and is guided through adding differently coloured layers to create a picture.
Zen Studio Meditation for Kids fits in well with the current psychology and lifestyle trend of "mindfulness", which encourages a person to connect with the current moment and experience. There is accumulating scientific evidence that mindfulness activities can have a positive impact on psychological and emotional well-being. Zen Studio Meditation creates a mindful experience.
This game is free from pop-up advertising and In-App purchasing. However, parents should be aware that if they are using the free version of the game, there is a 'parent zone' which can be accessed via a very simple maths equation (i.e 3 x 8). It is possible that some children over the age of 4 may be able to access the parent zone if they understand the equation. This will enable them to purchase the 'paid' game and to follow links to other apps by the same developer.
